Largest District in India

Mahe is the smallest district in India. It has an area of 9 sq. km. Mahe is geographically located in the state of Kerala, where as administratively it comes under the control of Union Territory of Pondicherry. Mahe has the official name of Mayyazhi in the local Malayalam language.
Mahe has a population of about 36,000 according to the 2001 census. The population density of the town is 4091 per sq. km. Males constitute 47% of the population and females 53%. Mahe has an average literacy rate of 85%. Mahe has two members in the Pondicherry Legislative Assembly, representing Mahe and Palloor.

The Biggest freshwater lake is Loktak Lake – not Wular lake… why is everybody making mistakes. Loktak lake( surf. area 287 sqkm) is first & Wular Lake (surf. area 260 sqkm) is second. Please change.

The longest tunnel in India is not Jawahar tunnel (2.5km) but presently it is Kharbude tunnel (6.5km) of Konkan railways. The longest tunnel of India and second longest of Asia is under construction in J&K and will be called Pir-Panjal Tunnel (11km), connecting the same places as Jawahar tunnel. highest peak in INDIA is k2(8611m)discoverd by godvin ostein. and its present in KARAKORAM(6100m).himalaya based highest peak of INDIA is kanchunjunga(8598m)in SIKKIM.

Kanchenjunga and Karakoram both known as K2 but there is difference between both. KaraKoram known as K2 (Godwin Asuten) is in Pakistan/China geographially, has an altitude of 28250 ft or 8611 meter. And, Kanchenjunga (K2) is the highest mountain peak in India/Nepal, has an altitude of 8,586 metres (28,169 feet).
