All India Common Entrance Examination-All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AICEE-AIPVT) is organized by the Veterinary Council of India, for inclusion into first year Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) & Animal Husbandry (AH) degree course.
The Veterinary Council of India is an authoritative body formed by the Government of India under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (52 of 1984). This Act regulates Veterinary practices and education in India. The Act doesn’t apply to Tamil Nadu and J&K. Only qualified veterinary who are registered can practice in the India. This exam is conducted for admission to degree courses in B.H.M.S. / B. Sc (nursing) / B. Pharma / B. Opt. etc.
- Candidates, who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent to 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English as prescribed by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) are eligible to appear.
- A candidate is eligible for appearing in All India Common Entrance Examination (AICEE) examination, if he has passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% (40% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Candidates appearing in the 12th class examination under 10+2 system and awaiting the results, in the year of admission are also eligible to apply.
- Age should not be less than 17 years as on December of the year of admission.
‘All India Common Entrance Examination’ is normally conducted in the month of May every year. An advertisement for the same usually appears in all top newspapers. Total duration of exam is three and a half hour. The syllabus includes physics, biology, chemistry and English of the +2 level. The questions are objective type and have multiple-choice answers.
To get an information bulletin and application form, one must pay the requisite amount including exam fee, handling and other charges through a Bank Draft drawn in favor of Veterinary Council of India payable at New Delhi on SBI or any other Scheduled Bank.
The application form and the bulletin of Information can be requested through post while submitting the draft and other requisites. Alternatively one can also visit the counter of the office of Veterinary Council of India to get a copy.
