The Indian Council of Agricultural Research conducts entrance examination for people aspiring to do AIEEA – UG or AIEEA – PG. There are various qualifying criteria and eligibility criteria that come into consideration for these programs. These are only for Indian Nationals and not Foreign Nationals unlike other UG and PG courses. As far as AIEEA – UG is concerned it can only be done with NDRI but the Masters or AIEEA – PG can be done from various different universities across the country. The programs that are offered are AIEEA for UG as well as PG in allied sciences and agri.
The educational qualification that is required of the UG course is as follows, the candidate should have passed with more than fifty percent in aggregate and forty five percent aggregate if the candidate is from scheduled caste or scheduled tribe. The subject combination in plus two should be a combination of either Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Accounts. This is vital as everything will revolve around these combinations.
The educational qualification that is required of the PG course is as follows, the candidate should have a degree in the field of either agriculture or veterinary or agricultural engineering or fisheries or horticulture or home science or sericulture or dairy technology or dairy engineering or forestry or marketing banking and cooperation or food science and technology or biotechnology or process and food engineering or computer science or basic and allied sciences.
On top of all these eligibility criteria in terms of education the candidate should have also completed ICAR Entrance Examination as well. There are various websites which offer the course material that would be vital for any candidate who is preparing for this entrance examination. There are also some government organized centers which offer coaching on the same so as to have the candidate prepared for the entrance examination. There is also a specific age criteria that is in place for these programs. The UG program has an age criteria of between seventeen and twenty three years and the PG program has an age criteria of above nineteen.
The question paper will comprise of one hundred and eighty multiple choice questions in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agriculture for STREAM A and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for STREAM B. The questions in the question paper will be in English as well as in Hindi.
