1945The liberation of the Philippines was declared during world war 2. It is an island country in Southeast Asia located in the western Pacific Ocean. 1954The Andhra Pradesh High Court was founded. The High Court in Hyderabad for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is the common High Court of the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The High Court is built on the south bank of the River Musi. This is one of the best built buildings in the city which is built in red and white stones in Saracenic style by Nizam VII Mir Osman Ali Khan who was the ruler of the state of Hyderabad.
1954first television news bulletin of BBC was broadcasted. It is the public service broadcaster of the UK. Theof BBC situated headquarters at Broadcasting House in London. It is regarded as world's oldest national broadcasting organization and the second biggest broadcaster in the world by count of employees.
1962Algeria became independent from France. Algeria is a country in North Africa on the coast of Mediterranean. Its capital and most inhabited city is Algiers. With an area of 2,381,741 square, kilometres 90% is desert, Algeria is the tenth biggest country in the world and the largest in the Arab and Africa.
1968Indian Naval Submarine wing in Indian Navy came into existence with the entrance of the first submarine from the Soviet Union. The main objective of the navy is to secure the India’s maritime borders; India also uses its navy to increase its international relations.
1975Cape Verde gained its independence from Portugal. It is an island country traversing an archipelago of ten volcanic islands in the central Atlantic Ocean. It is situated 570 kilometres off the coast of Western Africa the islands cover a combined area of slightly over four thousand kilometers.
1975Arthur Ashe became the first black man to win the Wimbledon singles title. Arthur Robert Ashe was an American professional tennis player who was ranked no.1 in world ranking from America. He won three Grand Slam titles which ranked him among the best tennis players from the United States.
1995The Republic of Armenia adopted its constitution after four years of its independence from the Soviet Union. Armenia is a hilly country in the South Caucasus region in Eurasia. It is situated in Western Asia.
1996Dolly the sheep became the first mammal cloned from an adult cell. Dolly was a female domestic sheep and the first animal to be cloned from an adult somatic cell. It was done using the process of nuclear transfer. She was cloned by Keith Campbell, Ian Wilmut and colleagues.
2006North Korea tested four short ranged missiles, one medium ranged missile and a long ranged Taepodong-2. The long ranged Taepodong-2 reported to be failed in mid air over the Sea of Japan. The Taepodong-2 was a designation used to indicate a North Korean two or three staged ballistic missile. Its design is the successor to the Taepodong-1 technology demonstrator. The missile has been tested once and failed in less than 40seconds after launch.
