  • India’s trade deficit rose in October even as the recovery in exports continued taking it to a two-year high. However, there was turbulence in the currency and equity markets with the rupee hitting a two-month low of 63 to the dollar and the stock markets falling to a one-month low on renewed fears of US Fed tapering.
  • The rupee tumbled 77 paise to an almost two-month low of 63.24 against the dollar on Monday as the trade deficit widened from a month ago and the US currency strengthened after encouraging jobs data renewed fears of stimulus tapering.
  • AB de Villiers stormed to an unbeaten century to help South Africa beat Pakistan convincingly by 117 runs in the fifth and final one-day in Sharjah on Monday, winning the five-match series 4-1.

  • A fire broke out in a multi-storeyed building in Sidharth Nagar of  Vikhroli, Mumbai last night. Four people died and six  others were injured.
