  • =China on Sunday proposed “emergency consultations” among representatives of the Six Party Talks – which involve the North and South Korea, Japan, China, Russia and the United States – to help resolve the escalating crisis on the Korean Peninsula. The Chinese proposal follows Tuesday’s exchange of artillery fire.
  • = Flush with the successful flight of surface-to-surface missile Agni-1 on Thursday , the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is preparing to launch Agni-II +, “a totally new missile,” before December 10.
  • = A photographic exhibition on miniature paintings organised by the National Museum, Delhi, will be one of the highlights of the first Indian Biodiversity Congress (IBC) 2010 beginning in Thiruvananthapuram on December 27.
  • = “It is our collective responsibility to ensure that children living with HIV are provided proper education, nutrition and medical care. We won’t need campaigns if we, as a community realise our duties,” actor Kamal Haasan said here on Saturday.
