  • Justice Abhay Thipsay of the Bombay High Court suspended the sentence to five year in jail and granted bail to actor Salman Khan on May 8, 2015. On 6th May Salman Khan was convicted and sentenced in the 2002 hit-and-run case by Justice D.W. Deshpande.
  • David Cameron led Conservative party won the general election of United Kingdom with majority. Results declared on May 8, 2015 and Conservative party won 51% seats, 331 out of 650.
  • Former Chief Minister and expelled JD (U) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi announced the name of his new political party ‘Hindustani Awam Morcha’ on May 8, 2015. Shakuni Chaudhary was appointed as Bihar President of the party.
  • Pakistani military aircraft Mi-17 crashed on May 8, 2015, killing 7 people out of 17 aboard. Ambassador of Norway (Leif Larsen) and Philippines (Domingo Lucenario) and the wives of the Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors were killed in the accident.
  • Indian military aircraft MiG 27 has been crashed near Alipurduar in West Bengal on May 8, 2015. The pilot of the plane ejected safely but two civilians, on the ground, were killed in the crash.
  • 20 year old Mhairi Black belong to the Scottish National Party (SNP) who became the youngest MP elected since 1667 by defeating the Labour party’s Douglas Alexander for the seat of Paisley and Renfrewshire South. Earlier in 1667 Christopher Monckton became the youngest MP at the age of 13.
  • Russia and China signed a $25 billion deal on May 8, 2015 to encourage economic co-operation between the two countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping exchanged the documents at the Kremlin in Moscow on the eve of a military parade marking the end of World War II in Europe.
  • Supreme Court has allowed Sahara on May 8, 2015 to arrange a bank guarantee of Rs 5,000 crore to comply with court order for the release of Subrata Roy and two other directors Ashok Roy Choudhary and Ravi Shankar Dubey who are in Tihar Jail since March 4, 2014.
