History of Bihari Puraskar:

Bihari Puraskar is the prestigious literature award which is given by the K.K. Birla Foundation. In the year of 1991 Bihari Puraskar was instituted by K.K. Birla Foundation in the memory of famous poet Bihari Lal. In 1991, famous poet Jaisingh Neeraj was awarded the first Bihari Puraskar for his poetic compilation ‘Thani ka aadmi’.

This award is only given to the writer of Rajasthan, Those who are the Native of Rajasthan and Those who are living in there last 7 years, are the capable for this award. This award is only available for those people who has published their book in Rajasthani or Hindi language since last 10 years.

27th Bihari Puraskar 2017:

Famous Rajasthani writer Vijay Verma was selected for 27th Bihari Puraskar for his Hindi Novel “Lokavlokan” on 11th May 2018. This book was published in 2016. “In Lokavalokan”, Vijay Verma has put forward his rationale and analysis of various significant and pertinent aspects of Rajasthani literature and culture in detail.
