Billboard Music Awards 2012

  • Someone Like You hitmaker Adele emerged as a big winner at the Billboard Music Awards held in Los Angeles, after she won 12 trophies, including Top Artist and Top Female Artist.
  • The 24-year-old singer’s Rolling in the Deep number and smash-hit album 211 earned her four big prizes, including Top Alternative Song, Top Billboard 200 album and Top Pop Album. She also picked up trophies for Top Hot 100 Artist and Billboard 200 Artist.
  • Electropop duo LMFAO took home six awards, five for their 2011 hit single Party Rock Anthem and one for Top Due or Group.
  • Other multiple winners were Coldplay who took home four awards, including Top Rock Album and Top Alternative Album for Mylo Xyloto.
  • Katy Perry was handed the Spotlight Award for tying the record set by Michael Jackson of five #1 hits from the same album, for her handful of smashes from Teenage, Dream.
  • Taylor swift was honoured with the Billiboard Woman of the Year award.
