Sahitya Akademi Award for Hindi:

Sahitya Akademi Award is a literary award given by Sahitya Akademi in India. Every year, Sahitya Akademi offers awards to the best literary works published in each of the major languages ​​recognized by India. In addition to 22 Indian languages included in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution, it is provided in 24 languages including Rajasthani and English languages. For the first time, the Sahitya Akademi Awards was given in 1955.

Sahitya Akademi Award Prize money:

In the Sahitya Akademi award, the winners are given 1 lakh  rupees cash and a copperplate in the present. At the time of the establishment of the award, the prize money was Rs 5,000 -, which was increased to Rs. 10,000 – in 1983 and increased to Rs. 25,000 – in 1988. Since 2001, this amount has been increased to Rs. 40,000 – and in 2003, the amount was increased to Rs. 50,000 – in 2003. After this, the government increased the amount of the year award from 50,000 to 1 lakh rupees in 2009.

Sahitya Akademi Award 2018:

Famous writer Chitra Mudgal has been awarded by the Hindi Sahitya Akademi Award in the year 2018. Chitra Mudgal has received her nobel “Nalasopara Post Box No. 203″ has been selected for the award. It is well known that Ramesh Kuntal Megh, the well-known Hindi writer, was selected for the Hindi Sahitya Akademi Award for the year 2017 for his Hindi book ‘”Vishw Mithak Sarit Sagar”.

Sahitya Akademi has announced its prestigious annual awards on December 05, 2018. Akademi has selected writers of Chitra Mudgal in Hindi, Anis Salim in English, Rahman Abbas in Urdu, Ramakant Shukla in Sanskrit and Mohanjeet in Punjabi, among 24 Indian languages this year for the Sahitya Akademi Award. This time seven collections of poems, six novels, six story collections, three critiques and two essay collections have been selected for the prestigious award. All winners will be given a one lakh rupees, a citation and a symbol of the award. These awards will be given on January 29 in the capital New Delhi.
