1757Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula was captured and assassinated. He was stabbed with a knife by Muhammad Beg at the instance of Miran. Siraj ud-Daulah was the last independent Nawab of Bengal. 1940Indian independence leader Subhash Chandra Bose was arrested and detained in Calcutta. Subhash Chandra Bose known throughout India as Neta was an Indian nationalist and prominent figure of the Indian independence movement. Bose was the twice elected President of the Indian National Congress and the founder and President of the All India Forward Bloc.
1972Shimla Treaty was signed between Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Pakistani PM Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. It took place after the war between the two nations in 1971 which resulted in the independence of Bangladesh. It was earlier known as East Pakistan and was part of the Pakistani territory. The agreement was approved by the Parliaments of both the nations in same year.

2013The International Astronomical Union named Pluto's fourth and fifth moons, Kerberos and Styx. The International Astronomical Union is consisting of professional astronomers, at the PhD level and beyond who are active in professional research and education in astronomy.
